BUDDY CROWNED CHAMPION AT MADERA SPEEDWAY!!!

October 10, 2015 - Only one day after celebrating his 16th birthday, Buddy was crowned the Loanmart Open Late Model CHAMPION at Madera Speedway!  With only 19 points separating him and the second place driver going into the night, the team faced many challenges throughout the hard fought 125 lap battle.  Mechanical issues, flat tires were just a few of those challenges that hampered his sights on the win that night, settling for a sixth place finish.  He missed his goal of taking home the win and 10K,  but earned his Championship bragging rights in stellar fashion. He started P6, found himself in P2 after the first 50 lap segment, which put him starting in the undesirable inside groove on pole for the second 50 lap segment. Unfortunately, after a few crashes on the track, Buddy ran over debris which was not visible and created a slow leak in the tire, after the red flag was lifted and the yellow flew is when he realized his tire was low.  His awesome team went to work and got him back out before the leaders took the green.  Throughout all the challenges, Buddy's superior team kept him on the track without losing any laps to the leaders each time he had to pit.  Re-starting from the rear of the field on the last 25 lap segment  he motored his hot rod to be faster than the leader.  He found on those yellows that he would have been on the preferred top groove for the restarts, however, due to time restraints, the track lined everyone up single file for the duration of the race.  He attempted to pass on the inside, but as the gentleman driver he is, he didn't have the heart to "use up" the car on the outside of him for the pass, settling for sixth when the checkered flag flew.  Thanks to my CHAMPIONSHIP CREW:  Mike Keen, Derek Thorn, Joel Askew, Bryan Brown, Tom Barton, Gary Spangle, John Worley, Bo Bohannon, Andy Worley, dad, mom and Joe Castro.  My CHAMPIONSHIP SPONSORS:  H&M MOTORSPORTS, D'ANGELOS Automotive and Industrial Coatings, AXALTA, Cow-Boy Bail Bonds, Advanced Distribution, H&S Body Works and Towing, RTS, Crystal Pools, HONDO, Inc., Schaeffer's Racing Oil, Ron's Rear Ends.  And to all my FANS, FAMILY and FRIENDS who support me.
